Mountain Greens

The Green Party local chapters in Western North Carolina are grassroots political organizations dedicated to the advancement of the Green movement in Western North Carolina. We are legally constituted local committees of the North Carolina Green Party, affiliates of the U.S. Green Party, and The Greens Worldwide organization.

We are now working on initiatives including growth on the local level (and at all levels of the Party), ballot access, and progressive activism. The Green Party is the most rapidly growing political party in the United States, with work underway on a number of initiatives.

The Greens Are Gathering

From Boone in the north to Franklin and points even further south, Greens of all hues are emerging from their shelters to stand in a sun dimmed by America’s tilt so far to the right.  With the hope that enough democracy survives to make recovery possible, Greens are forming throughout the state and along the western mountains under the banner of the North Carolina Green Party.  As Corporatism gives way to something even darker and more threatening and as church and state merge into a form looking much like the nightmares of the past, Greens are gathering.  As civil liberties stagger under the burden of the so-called Patriot Act, Greens are gathering.  As the US moves from an illegal and criminal military assault on a nation to a permanent war footing with the world, Greens have begun to gather.
